FAQ

Getting started

Is the estimate really free?

Yes. Estimates are free and come with no obligation. You approve a written scope and price before any work begins.

What areas do you serve?

Nashville and communities across Middle Tennessee, including Franklin, Brentwood, Murfreesboro, Hendersonville, Mt. Juliet and more. See the service areas page for the full list.

Do you work for homeowners, builders and businesses?

All three. We work for homeowners, builders, remodelers, landlords and commercial owners.

What do you insulate?

Attics, walls, floors, crawl spaces, basements, garages, roofs and metal buildings, with air sealing, ventilation and moisture control as part of the work.

FAQ

Attics and air sealing

How do I know if my attic needs more insulation?

If you can see the tops of the joists, the layer is thin. Uneven rooms, drafts and high bills are other clues, and an inspection confirms it.

Why do you air seal before insulating?

Insulation slows heat but does not stop moving air. Sealing the leaks first lets the new layer perform as designed.

Can new insulation go over the old?

Often, if the old material is dry and clean. Wet, moldy or contaminated insulation should be removed first.

FAQ

Spray foam and materials

Is spray foam better than fiberglass?

Each is better in some places. Foam seals air and adds R-value in thin spaces, and fiberglass or cellulose is economical in open attics and walls.

Is spray foam safe?

Applied correctly and fully cured, it is stable. We keep occupants out during application and follow the manufacturer guidance.

What is dense-pack cellulose?

Cellulose blown into closed walls at high density through small holes, which fills the cavity without removing drywall or plaster.

FAQ

Crawl spaces and moisture

Should I seal or vent my crawl space?

In our humid climate, a sealed crawl space with humidity control usually performs better. We inspect before we recommend.

Will encapsulation stop musty smells?

It often reduces them by controlling moisture. Existing mold may need remediation first.

Can insulation cause moisture problems?

Well-planned insulation protects a home. Moisture sources are fixed first, and details are chosen to let assemblies dry.

FAQ

Cost, rebates and safety

How do I compare insulation quotes?

Compare written scopes, materials, R-values, air sealing, cleanup and exclusions. Our cost guide explains what drives the price.

Are rebates or tax credits available?

Programs change. We tell you what documents they usually ask for, and you confirm current rules with the program.

What if you find old or suspect material?

We stop, document it and recommend testing and the right specialist. Vermiculite and similar materials are not disturbed.
